Guiding hearts to peace, and providing compassionate care for depression, anxiety, trauma, and healing relationships.
Background
With 26 years of experience in the field of counseling, I have worked extensively with diverse populations, including individuals, and families, providing therapeutic services for issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship issues, and more. Specializing in Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, and various other therapeutic modalities, I am passionate about helping clients develop coping skills and achieve personal growth.
Throughout my career, I have worked in various settings, including the public school system as a Mental Health and Wellness Counselor, and a treatment center for teenagers recovering from substance abuse, gaining a broad perspective on mental health challenges and therapeutic solutions.
It has been my privilege to serve in the public school system as a High School Spanish Teacher, Elementary School Counselor, High School Mental Health and Wellness Counselor, Magnet School Counselor, and High School Counselor.
Therapeutic Approach
I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and emotions. My approach to therapy is rooted in person-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based techniques and psychodynamic approaches, tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
By integrating evidence-based practices with compassion and empathy, I help clients gain insight into their behaviors and thought patterns, fostering lasting change.
I am dedicated to empowering individuals to achieve emotional well-being, resilience, and a sense of fulfillment. I firmly believe that everyone possesses the inner strength needed to overcome life’s challenges, and my role as a counselor is to provide guidance, support, and tools to help clients navigate those challenges and achieve their goals.
In addition to my professional work, I am passionate about continuing my education in the mental health field, and community engagement.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and reading. My husband and I are blessed with three amazing sons, a daughter in law, and granddaughter. We are also proud pet parents of two rescue dogs.
